For sale is this Original Jaguar Mk X 3.8 Engine Triple Carb Overdrive Gearbox ZA3446-9 OEM
OEM Original. This is an original 9:1 compression ratio 3.8L engine with overdrive gearbox for Jaguar Mk X. This could also be used as a replacement for 3.8L E-Type, but would require some adjustment and replacing some parts for the E-Type application. The engine turns smoothly and the gearbox turns as well. The intake side cam cover looks like it was previously damaged and repaired. The engine number stamped on the block and on the head are matching. The gearbox (GBN 2290 JS) does not appear to be original to this engine and is from a Mk 1/Mk 2 w Laycock overdrive and shaved gears. The crank pulley has a chunk missing from it and will need replacement. Additional pictures are available in the full listing in the description below.
